Hopeful new participants should begin by completing our Interest form.
As our lesson schedule opens up and timeslots become available, the REINS team will reach out to those on the interest list to gather more info and availability.
Enrollment Requirements
To participate in REINS programs, the following are required prior to your first session:
- Completed Participant Packet (Application & Health History, Liability Release, etc.)
- Physician’s Referral Form
- Medical diagnosis from an appropriate provider
Physician referrals must be updated:
- Every 2 years for most participants
- Annually for participants with Down syndrome
Failure to maintain an up-to-date physician referral may result in loss of your scheduled spot.

Adaptive Riding
For individuals with disabilities, diagnoses, or injuries. Lessons are tailored to support physical, cognitive, and emotional development.
Ground-Based Horsemanship
Non-riding programs focused on connection, communication, and personal growth. These programs are available to participants who are not eligible to ride.
Benefits of Adaptive Riding
Participants may experience:
- Increased muscle tone, balance, and coordination
- Improved speech and language development
- Enhanced body awareness and self-esteem
- Opportunities for socialization and connection
A typical 30-minute lesson includes engaging activities, individualized exercises, communication practice, and interaction with peers, staff, and volunteers.
Participant Requirements
Barn Rules
To ensure a safe and respectful environment:
- Treat all horses with respect
- No loud noises in riding areas
- No smoking or vaping on the property
- Drive slowly and yield to horses at all times
- Service animals must be trained, restrained, and under control
- Participants must be supervised at all times
- Children are not permitted in horse areas (crossties, enclosures, ramps)
